India have won two back-to-back Border-Gavaskar Trophies in Australia
After the completion of the ongoing three-match test series against New Zealand, India will be gearing up for the highly anticipated 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy — a five-match test series against Australia starting on November 22nd in Perth. This tour will see India, led by Gautam Gambhir’s leadership as head coach, attempt to clinch their third consecutive series win in Australia, a feat that would cement their dominance in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy rivalry.
Which players are picked up for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy?
The Indian team will be captained by Rohit Sharma, with Jasprit Bumrah taking on the role of vice-captain. The squad showcases a balanced lineup of experienced players and promising newcomers.
The selection committee has placed their trust in Yashasvi Jaiswal as an opener alongside Rohit whereas Abhimanyu Easwaran will have the opportunity to prove himself after grinding it big in the domestic circuit over the years. in challenging Australian conditions. India’s tour of Australia will kick off at the Perth Stadium, with matches scheduled at iconic venues including the Adelaide Oval for a day-night test, the Gabba, Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), and finally Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).
1st test: Nov 22-26 – Perth Stadium, Perth
2nd test (D/N): Dec 6-10 – Adelaide Oval
3rd test: Dec 14-18 – The Gabba, Brisbane
4. 4th test: Dec 26-30 – MCG, Melbourne
5th test: Jan 3-7 – SCG, Sydney
