Sarfaraz Khan has played six test matches in his career so far.

The Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024/25 is only a week away. The Indian cricket team have intensified their training, and are also keeping it private.

India kicked off their training on Tuesday at the famous WACA ground, which is located on the opposite bank of the Swan River where the Optus Stadium is situated, which will be hosting the first test, starting on November 22.

They have been training behind a black cloth, obscuring the public view. It has been learned that nobody is allowed to click photos of India’s training sessions as they prepare for the Perth test.

However, on Wednesday, a concerning visual emerged as middle-order batsman Sarfaraz Khan copped a blow to his right hand and was seen holding it while walking away from the nets.

Fox Sports got hold of some of the training videos from India’s sessions. In it, while the focus majorly was on Virat Kohli, who batted with steely eyes and punched deliveries both off the front foot and back foot, the clip of Sarfaraz Khan holding his right arm, just below his elbow caught the attention of the Indian fans.

Sarfaraz Khan looked in discomfort as he walked away from the nets. Thankfully, according to Wisden.com, there are “no issues” with Sarfaraz at the moment.

The 27-year-old Mumbai batsman is in contention for the first test. However, his ability to handle the extra pace and bounce of Perth is uncertain.

India might opt to play Dhruv Jurel, who impressed in the first-class game against Australia at the MCG, instead of Sarfaraz, who struggled poorly in the last two tests against New Zealand.

Against New Zealand, Sarfaraz hit his maiden test century in Bengaluru but in his other five innings in the series, he managed only 21 runs. All of his six tests so far have come in India and this is his first away test tour.
