KL Rahul scored 77 runs in the second innings of the first BGT 2024-25 test in Perth.

Following India’s 295-run victory in Perth in the opening test, they will take on Australia in Adelaide in the second match of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25. Starting on Friday, December 6, the second test will be a day-night affair.

Notably, the previous day-night test between these two sides four years ago saw India collapse to their lowest-ever total of 36 runs in the second innings.

This time, though, India are heading to Adelaide brimming with confidence after their thumping victory in the first test at the Optus Stadium.

India’s commanding win in Perth was a team effort. The bowlers set the stage for a remarkable comeback in the first innings, and then KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, and Yashasvi Jaiswal batted Australia out of the game.

With Rohit Sharma set to return for the second test, KL Rahul’s batting position has become a topic of speculation. When questioned about it during a recent press conference, the Indian opener delivered a hilarious response.

When asked about his batting position in the pre-match press conference, Rahul replied in a witty manner.

The Indian opener said, “I have been told, but I have also been told not to share. You will have to wait for Day 1 or maybe when the captain comes here tomorrow.

He also opened up about his preparation to return as an opener after a stint in the middle order.

Rahul continued, “Opening is something that I’ve done for a long time in my career. I know how I need to get my runs and what processes I need to follow. I got enough practice time, and it helped me in my preparation.
