Mitchell Starc took his revenge for the sledging from Yashasvi Jaiswal during the Perth test.

The second BGT 2024-25 test match in Adelaide got off on a stunning fashion as Australia’s spearhead seamer Mitchell Starc trapped India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal lbw on the first ball of the match.

Starc delivered a fiery celebration as he toppled one of India’s two centurions from the first Perth test for a duck. The extra feistiness in Starc’s celebration was due to the sledging made by young Jaiswal in the previous test.

During Jaiswal’s century in India’s second innings in Perth, as Starc lost his steam, the Indian opener taunted him by saying he was “bowling too slow“. The lanky speedster brought the pace and heat to Jaiswal in Adelaide as he dismissed him on the first ball of the match.

Jaiswal shuffled across his stumps – so much that his leg stump was visible as the ball was being released – as Starc bowled a full ball swinging a bit and into the stumps. Jaiswal missed his flick and was trapped right in front of the leg stump. With the ball swinging away a bit, it was on its course to hit the leg stump. Therefore, Jaiswal didn’t opt for a DRS.

Starc roared in his celebration and it was clear that Jaiswal’s sledging from the previous test had been on his mind.
