Travis Head has smashed four international centuries against India since 2023.

Few batsmen have terrorized the Indian cricket team and their fans like Travis Head has since last year. Since his return to Australia’s side in the Ashes 2021/22, the left-hander has been changing games by shifting the momentum in quick time. And he’s been particularly emphatic against India in this period.

On Sunday, Travis Head raised his fourth international century and third in test cricket against India since the start of 2023. Two came last year in the finals of the ICC WTC and the ODI World Cup. The other two have come in the ongoing BGT 2024-25 in back-to-back test matches, following on from a score of 89.

After missing out on a three-figure score by only 11 runs in the first test in Perth, Head blasted 140 off 141 balls in the second test in Adelaide, his knock being the difference in Australia’s series-levelling win.

Then, in the third test at the Gabba in Brisbane, Head unleashed himself once again over the Indian bowlers who have lacked the spice and the wicket-taking potency they had in the first two tests.

Head shrugged off the fact that he had been dismissed for a duck in his last three test innings at the Gabba and hammered a sizzling counter-attacking century off 115 balls.

At one point, India had looked on top when they reduced Australia to 75/3. But that is when the real battle started: Head vs Indian bowlers and the southpaw emerged on top once again.

He has cracked 13 fours in his innings so far. While his cut shots were thrilling to watch, as usual, Head also ramped and pulled disdainfully, with India being guilty of wrong field placements.

As he brought up his century, fans filled up social media with posts hailing the left-hander and his special liking towards the Indian cricket team.
