Virat Kohli was dismissed for seven runs in the second BGT 2024-25 test in Adelaide.
After winning the opening test of the BGT 2024-25 in Perth, the Indian team started the second test at the Adelaide Oval on the back foot.
Making his comeback to the side, India captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bat first. Ravichandran Ashwin and Shubman Gill also returned to the XI, replacing Washington Sundar and Devdutt Padikkal.
Australia started the game in a sensational manner with Mitchell Starc dismissing Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal on the first ball of the game. Shubman Gill and KL Rahul then joined forces to add 69 runs for the second wicket.
Their formidable stand was again broken by Starc, who dismissed KL Rahul on 37 runs. Starc was not done yet as he made further inroads in the Indian batting middle order, sending Virat Kohli back to the pavilion for just seven runs.
Kohli’s dismissal came once again to a delivery outside the off stump. Trying to leave the ball, he ended up edging it with the toe end of his bat. The ball flew to Smith at second slip, who took a brilliant low catch.
This dismissal of Kohli’s was similar to his first innings dismissal in the Perth test of Hazlewood. On both occasions, Kohli was late in withdrawing his bat and edged the ball behind.

Meanwhile, at the end of the first session, India are 82/4, having lost Shubman Gill as well.
India now face the daunting task of rebuilding the innings after this mini-collapse. With the pitch assisting the fast bowlers, India would look for a competitive total and hope for another inspiring bowling performance from their fast bowlers.
