Big update on Pakistan's participation in the Cricket World Cup 2023

Pakistan’s first three games in the Cricket World Cup 2023 likely to be shifted to some other dates.
Pakistan cited security concerns and are in a huddle to decide whether they will participate in the upcoming Cricket World Cup or not. In a positive news, Pakistan’s High Security Ministerial and government agencies met in Pakistan, and a committee led by Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto expressed that Pakistan will have adequate security for the two-month-long tournament in India. As per a few media reports, The committee has indicated to the Pakistan Cricket Board that it will have a chat with the International Cricket Council regarding security concerns.
Pakistan to discuss security with ICC
The committee was formed by Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to assess the situation and decide whether Pakistan should take part in the Cricket World Cup 2023 in India or not. The Bilawal Bhutto-led committee has hoped that Pakistan will get similar security to what they got during the 2016 World T20 event. Fans and the media are looking at this development positively. The committee includes Information Minister Mariyam Aurangzeb, Pakistan’s advisor Qamar Zaman Qaira, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar, and members of the various security agencies.
Pakistan’s steps are seen as retaliation for the ongoing tussle between the BCCI and PCB. The BCCI refused to send the Indian team to Pakistan for the Asia Cup tournament. But not taking part in the World Cup will be a huge step for any team. Pakistan will not risk taking that step. There might be some changes in Pakistan’s first three games in the Cricket World Cup 2023 schedule.
A few media reports suggested that PCB had asked for a few changes in their schedule after BCCI looked into changing the date of the India vs. Pakistan clash. Pakistan will play most of their games in Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, and Kolkata. Ahmedabad will host their India clash.
