Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25: Who are three reserves included in India's test squad?

The 1st test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 will be played in Perth.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has named 18-member squad for the much-anticipated Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, which will be played in Australia.
The five-match test series between Australia and India will be played from November 22, 2024, to January 7, 2025. This is the first time since the 1991-92 series that both teams will meet in a five-match test series. The series will be part of the ongoing ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 cycle.
The opening test will be played in Perth from November 22, followed by the second and third tests in Adelaide and Brisbane respectively. The fourth match of the series will be played in Melbourne from December 26 and the fifth test will be held in Sydney from January 3, 2025.
Talking about the Indian squad, Rohit Sharma will continue to lead the side. The Indian selectors has selected plenty of players who will be touring Australia for the first time in their test careers.
The BCCI has also named three reserve cricketers for the upcoming high-voltage test series. All the three reserves are pacers.
Three reserves included in India’s test squad for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25:
1. Mukesh Kumar
Pacer Mukesh Kumar has been added as a reserve player for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. The 31-year-old made his test debut in 2023 against the West Indies in Port of Spain.
Mukesh has featured in three tests, picking up seven wickets at a decent bowling average of 25.57. Mukesh hasn’t got a consistent run in the test side yet.
2. Khaleel Ahmed
Left-arm seamer Khaleel Ahmed has been added to the reserves for the upcoming five-match test series in Australia.
Rajasthan’s Khaleel has played 29 limited-overs international matches for India. However, the 26-year-old hasn’t represented the national side in test cricket yet.
3. Navdeep Saini
Indian speedster Navdeep Saini made his test debut during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2020-21 in Australia. The pacer played two games in the series and bagged four wickets.
Since then, however, he hasn’t played a single test match. Saini has featured in 19 white-ball matches for India so far.
The 31-year-old now has been picked as one of the reserve players for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 in Australia.
