Top 5 bowlers with most wickets in first over in IPL

Bhuvneshwar Kumar holds the Indian record for taking most wickets in first over in the IPL.
Bowling in the powerplay is not an easy job. Especially given that the game has become more batting-friendly. Just like in the Indian Premier League (IPL), where we see teams scoring 200+ totals for fun.
Batters are going after the bowlers from the very first ball. That is where bowlers have developed an art to take early wickets with the new ball. Especially in the very first over of the innings, to put the opposition on the back foot.
Here we will talk about such bowlers who have mastered the art of taking wickets in the very first over in the innings of IPL matches.
List of top five bowlers with most wickets in the first over in the IPL:
5. Deepak Chahar – 13 wickets
Deepak Chahar is an all-in-all swing bowler, who mainly relies on the movement with the new ball. Since his IPL debut in 2016, he has played for three different teams.
Chahar has been a bankable bowler in the powerplay, and he has proved it many times. Chahar has taken 13 wickets while bowling the opening over in the IPL.
4. Sandeep Sharma – 13 Wickets
Sandeep Sharma is a seasoned bowler in the IPL. He made his IPL debut in 2013 for Punjab Kings and took 3/21, which is still one of the best bowling figures by an Indian on IPL debut.
Sandeep started as a new-ball bowler, and over the years, he has improved and now generally bowls in the death overs. In his IPL career, he has taken 13 wickets in the first over of innings.
3. Praveen Kumar – 15 Wickets
To get wickets with a new ball, you need to have the ability to swing the ball, and Praveen Kumar was the prime example of that. The former Indian pacer played in the IPL between 2008 and 2017 and represented five different teams.
He ended with 90 wickets in 119 games, and 15 of those wickets came in the very first over, and he was a good new-ball bowler for his time.
2. Bhuvneshwar Kumar – 27 Wickets

The Indian record for taking most wickets in the first over of innings in the IPL belongs to Bhuvneshwar Kumar. The veteran pacer is a complete package in T20, who can bowl at any stage, but his prime role is to take wickets with the new ball.
Bhuvneshwar has the most wickets (183) by an Indian pacer in the IPL. He has taken 27 wickets in the very first over of an innings in the IPL.
1. Trent Boult – 31 Wickets

The Kiwi speedster Trent Boult is a highly demanded cricketer among the franchise cricket because of his ability to pick wickets in the powerplay. He has been doing it for New Zealand and also does it in various T20 leagues globally.
