Top five bowlers with most wickets in U19 Asia Cup 2025

India’s Deepesh Devendran leads the bowling charts in the U19 Asia Cup 2025

The ACC Under 19 Asia Cup 2025 was largely a tournament dominated by batters, with towering totals and relentless stroke play becoming a regular feature, even on the high-pressure final day. On flat pitches offering little assistance, bowlers were often left searching for answers as run rates soared and margins narrowed.

Yet, amid these challenging conditions, a select group of bowlers rose above the onslaught. Through discipline, variation, and mental resilience, they managed to halt momentum and deliver decisive spells.

The tournament witnessed three five-wicket hauls and three four-wicket efforts, with the standout performance coming from Deepesh Devendran’s brilliant 5 for 22 against Malaysia.

Top five bowlers with most wickets in U19 Asia Cup 2025

5. Muhammad Akram – 9 wickets (Malaysia U19)

Muhammad Akram was the lone shining light in what proved to be a disappointing campaign for the Malaysian unit. While getting hammered for 408 in their contest against India, Akram rewarded himself with a five-fer, including wickets of Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Vihaan Malhotra.

His three-fer against UAE shows consistency, and potential, which if worked upon, can help Malaysia’s bowling in the future.

4. Ali Raza – 9 wickets (Pakistan U19)

Ali Raza was the key architect behind Pakistan’s historic win over India in the final of the U19 Asia Cup 2025, picking a four-fer. Raza took out both explosive Indian openers, in the form of Ayush Mhatre and Vaibhav Suryavanshi.

He came back to pick up the wicket of Kanishk Couhan and Deepesh Devendran, eliminating any hopes for India to comeback into the contest. Raza had also snapped a three-fer in Pakistan’s opening match against Malaysia.

3. Mohammad Sayyam – 10 wickets (Pakistan U19)

Mohammad Sayyam is the second Pakistani in the list, with consecutive three-fers against Malaysia and India. Sayyam played a massive role in Pakistan’s victory against India in the finals, breaking India’s middle order batting with key wickets of Aaron George and Vedant Trivedi.

2. Abdul Subhan – 13 wickets (Pakistan U19)

Pakistan Under-19 booked their place in the final of the ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup with a dominant eight-wicket win over Bangladesh U19, led by Abdul Subhan’s superb 4 for 20. Subhan picked another four-fer previously against UAE, helping his team defend a low target of 241.

He further clinched three important wickets against India in the group stage. However, his most effectful spell came against India in the title clash, notably claiming wickets of Vihaan Malhotra and Abhigyan Kundu.

1. Deepesh Devendran – 14 wickets (India U19)

Deepesh Devendran led India‘s bowling in U19 Asia Cup 2025, picking three wickets against Pakistan in the league stage at an economy of just above 2. Devendran then dismantled Malaysia’s middle order, with a five-fer, and ensured he took at least one wicket in every match he played.

On the day of the finals, he got rid of the centurion Sameer Minhas, and knocked over the Pakistani skipper Farhan Yousaf for just 17. He finishes as the highest wicket taker of the competition.
