BPL 2025-26 revised schedule announced; Chattogram removed as venue

BPL 2025-26 final will take place on January 23 in Dhaka.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced a revised schedule for the remaining games of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2025-26. According to the revised schedule, Chattogram has been removed as the venue of the tournament.

The BPL 2025-26 started on December 26th and featured clashes between six teams. According to the previous schedule, matches were supposed to be held at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium until January 2nd.

Later, the venue for the tournament was going to shift to MA Aziz Stadium in Chattogram, hosting games from January 5 to January 12. Shere Bangla Stadium in Dhaka was going to host the final leg from January 15.

However, according to the revised plan, Chattogram will not host any games. Sylhet will continue to host matches till January 12, before the action shifts to Dhaka. Moreover, two games that were cancelled on December 30 have been rescheduled to January 4.

The matches, scheduled to be played in Sylhet, had to be halted due to the passing away of former Bangladesh Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia. A nationwide mourning was implemented following her death.

BPL governing council secretary Iftekhar Rahman confirmed the revised schedule while speaking to reporters.

“We have a two-day gap and to adjust those two days we have decided to bring BPL only in two venues. We cannot adjust it (the two days) without this (playing the tournament in two venues),” he was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.

“So we are sorry for the fans of Chattogram but under current circumstance we have to cancel the game in Chattogram. We can save two travelling days,” he further added.

Moreover, there will be no changes to the playoffs and final of BPL 2025-26, which will begin in Dhaka on January 19. Below is the complete revised schedule of BPL 2025-26.

Meanwhile, Chattogram Royals, Dhaka Capitals, Noakhali Express, Rajshahi Warriors, Rangpur Riders, and Sylhet Titans are six teams part of BPL 2025-26.
