BPL: List of all winners in Bangladesh Premier League history

Only five teams have won the Bangladesh Premier League so far.

Cricket fans often check history books. They want to remember the teams that ruled the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). From the start, this tournament has provided great entertainment.

Seven different franchises participate in the BPL. This league started in 2012, when several cricket boards wanted to host T20 leagues similar to the IPL in their own countries.

It also found local talent. Fans witness exciting finishes and huge sixes every year. They appreciate smart performances. On that note, let’s take a look at the winners of each BPL season.

List of all BPL winners-

2012: Dhaka Gladiators (Season 1)

The first season set the tone for league cricket in Bangladesh. Dhaka Gladiators played Barisal Burners in the final at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium. The Gladiators batted first, and they set a tough score. The Burners could not reach it. Consequently, the Gladiators won by 8 wickets.

Imran Nazir played a breathtaking innings of 75 runs. He took only 43 balls to help his team win; because of this, Dhaka Gladiators became the first-ever BPL winners.

2013: Dhaka Gladiators (Season 2)

Dhaka Gladiators kept their title in the second year. They played the Chittagong Kings in the final game. The Kings’ bowlers were unable to stop the Gladiators’ batsmen. Dhaka scored a huge 172 runs. After that, the Chittagong Kings failed under pressure. They scored only 129 runs.

Mashrafe Mortaza led the team with great captaincy. So, Dhaka Gladiators won by 43 runs. They proved their status as the best team in the early league.

2015: Comilla Victorians (Season 3)

After the break, the league returned with renewed energy. Comilla Victorians joined as a new team. They shocked everyone by getting to the final against the Barisal Bulls. This game marked a famous final in BPL history.

Barisal Bulls set a target of 156 runs. The game lasted until the very last ball. Alok Kapali stayed calm. He hit the winning run. The Victorians won by three wickets. Mashrafe Mortaza won his third BPL trophy in a row as captain.

2016: Dhaka Dynamites (Season 4)

The Dhaka team shone once again with a new name. They played Rajshahi Kings in the big final. The Dynamites batted first and scored 159 runs. Quick runs from the middle-order batters helped a lot.

Rajshahi Kings struggled in their turn. They kept losing wickets. The Dynamites’ bowlers held them to just 103 runs. Because of that, Dhaka Dynamites won by 56 runs. They took the trophy back to the capital city.

2017: Rangpur Riders (Season 5)

Chris Gayle owned this season with his big hitting. Rangpur Riders played Dhaka Dynamites. Gayle hit a record 146 runs without getting out. This pushed Rangpur to a massive 206 runs.

Dhaka Dynamites tried to catch up. However, they failed because the score was too high. They ended at 149 runs. So, Rangpur Riders won their first title by 57 runs. They won because of the amazing skill of the “Universe Boss.”

2018: Comilla Victorians (Season 6)

Comilla Victorians played Dhaka Dynamites in a battle of the giants. Tamim Iqbal played perfectly. The southpaw scored a grand 141 runs and stayed in. His batting took Comilla to a strong 199 runs.

Dhaka fought hard. Still, the target was too high. Rony Talukdar played well. Even so, the Dynamites lost by 17 runs. After that, Comilla Victorians took their second BPL title.

2019: Rajshahi Royals (Season 7)

The Bangabandhu BPL featured the Rajshahi Royals against Khulna Tigers. Andre Russell did a great job with both bat and ball. The Royals scored 170 runs in their 20 overs.

Khulna Tigers had a good start. Then, they slowed down at the end. Mohammad Irfan and Andre Russell bowled very well. They stopped the runs. In the end, Rajshahi Royals won by 21 runs. They secured their first trophy.

2022: Comilla Victorians (Season 8)

Fans saw another very close game. Comilla Victorians played Fortune Barishal. Comilla batted first. They scored 151 runs. This score looked a bit low, but their bowlers were very precise.

Fortune Barishal needed 10 runs in the last over. They could not get them. Comilla Victorians won by just one run. Sunil Narine’s performance was the key in this close match.

2023: Comilla Victorians (Season 9)

Comilla Victorians stayed on top. They qualified for the final against the Sylhet Strikers. Sylhet batted first and scored 175 runs. The Victorians’ batters chased it down easily.

Johnson Charles played a sensational innings. He changed the match for Comilla. They hit the target with four balls left. They won by seven wickets. This win gave them their fourth BPL title.

2024: Fortune Barishal (Season 10)

Fortune Barishal finally won in the 10th year. They played the strong Comilla Victorians. Comilla wanted to win three times in a row. They batted first but could not find their flow. They posted 154 runs.

Kyle Mayers and Tamim Iqbal led the way for Barishal. They chased the score with smart, aggressive hitting. Fortune Barishal finished the chase in 19 overs. They won by six wickets to take their first trophy.

2025: Fortune Barishal (Season 11)

Fortune Barishal kept their crown against Chittagong Kings. The final had lots of runs at the stadium. Chittagong Kings posted a scary 194/3. Parvez Hossain Emon’s unbeaten 78 boosted that total.

Fortune Barishal responded with grit. Tamim Iqbal started things with 54 runs. The game was close until the end. Players needed big hits in the final overs. Rishad Hossain hit a vital six to finish the game. Fortune Barishal won by three wickets and clinched their second consecutive trophy.
