Duleep Trophy 2026 is set to start from August 23.
Duleep Trophy, the domestic first-class tournament, is one of the most important tournaments in the Indian domestic cricket circuit. It is played annually and the teams are usually divided based on geography.
The Duleep Trophy 2026 edition is set to kickstart from August 23. The teams are – Central Zone, North Zone, West Zone, South Zone, East Zone and the North East Zone.
The season will start with the match between East Zone and North East Zone; while the second quarter-final will be played between North Zone and West Zone on the same dates.
All the matches of this edition will be hosted by the two grounds at the BCCI Centre of Excellence. The Final of the tournament will be played from September 6. All the matches are scheduled to start at 9:30 AM IST.
The structure of the tournament is knockouts. The finalists of the last edition, Central Zone and South Zone, have been pre-seeded in the semi-finals. The winners of the quarter-final games will meet these teams in the further knockouts.
In 2025-26 season, Central Zone emerged victorious, lifting their 7th Duleep Trophy title. Yash Rathod was the Player of the Match, while Saransh Jain was the Player of the Tournament for picking 16 wickets in two matches, including 8 in the Final.
