2013 to 2025: List of all Caribbean Premier League (CPL) winners

Trinbago Knight Riders have won most titles in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) history.
The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) is one of the most popular T20 franchise tournaments in the world. Its inaugural season was played in 2013. It was launched by the Cricket West Indies (CWI) in order to give local talent a platform to showcase its talent.
Six different teams have won at least one CPL title so far. Trinbago Knight Riders have been the most successful team in the tournament’s history.
This article lists the CPL winners from the first season in 2013 to the latest season in 2025.

1. Jamaica Tallawahs – 2013
The Chris Gayle-led Jamaica Tallawahs won the inaugural season in 2013. They finished the group stage in second place and met Trinidad & Tobago Red Steel in the semi-finals.
The Tallawahs beat the Red Steel by seven wickets to make it to the final. In the final, they beat Guyana Amazon Warriors by seven wickets to clinch the title.
2. Barbados Royals – 2014
Barbados Royals (then Barbados Tridents) won their maiden title in the 2014 edition. The Kieron Pollard-led team finished the group stage at the top and made it to the final directly.
They met Guyana Amazon Warriors in the final and went on to win a close encounter by just eight runs. Dwayne Smith was the top scorer for Barbados in the final with 59 runs off 52 balls.
3. Trinbago Knight Riders – 2015
Trinbago Knight Riders, then known as Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel, won the third season of the CPL to clinch their maiden title under the captaincy of Dwayne Bravo.
They finished the group stage in third place. To reach the final, they beat Jamaica Tallawahs and Guyana Amazon Warriors in the playoffs.
In the final, they faced then-defending champions Barbados Tridents and won by 20 runs. Kamran Akmal played a match-winning knock of 60 off 46 in the final.
4. Jamaica Tallawahs – 2016
Jamaica Tallawahs and Chris Gayle made history when they became the first team and captain to win two CPL trophies. In the 2016 season, after finishing the group stage in second place, the Tallawahs lost Qualifier 1 against Guyana Amazon Warriors.
But, they beat Trinbago Knight Riders in Qualifier 2 by 19 runs to make it to the final. Andre Russell slammed a 44-ball 100 in that game.
In the final against Guyana, captain Chris Gayle (54 off 27) and left-arm spinner Imad Wasim (3/21) helped the Tallawahs win by nine wickets.
5. Trinbago Knight Riders – 2017
After Gayle, Dwayne Bravo became the second captain to lead a franchise to two CPL trophies when he led Trinbago Knight Riders to the 2017 title. The Knight Riders finished the group stage at the top.
They lost Qualifier 1 to St Kitts and Nevis Patriots (STKNP), but won the Eliminator against Guyana Amazon Warriors to book a place in the final against STKNP.
In the final, they met St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots where Kevon Cooper (2/12 and 29* off 14) showed his all-round abilities to take TKR to a three-wicket victory.
6. Trinbago Knight Riders – 2018
Trinbago Knight Riders, under Bravo, became the first team to successfully defend their title when they won the 2018 edition. They finished the group stage at the top for the second consecutive season.
Although TKR lost Qualifier 1 to Guyana Amazon Warriors, they made it to the final after winning Qualifier 2 against St. Kitts and Nevis.
In the final, they beat Guyana by eight wickets to lift their third title. Colin Munro (68* off 39) was the star of the final.
7. Barbados Royals – 2019
Jason Holder led Barbados Tridents (now Barbados Royals) to their second title in 2019. After finishing in second place in the league stage, Barbados lost Qualifier 1 against Guyana Amazon Warriors.
In Qualifier 2, they beat defending champions Trinbago Knight Riders by 12 runs to advance to the final. In the final, they met Guyana again. But this time, Barbados emerged victorious by 27 runs to lift the title. Jonathan Carter (50* off 27) and Raymond Reifer (4/24) performed superbly to take Barbados to their second trophy.
8. Trinbago Knight Riders – 2020
The record fourth CPL title for Trinbago Knight Riders came in 2020, and this time it was Kieron Pollard who led them to the championship. Pollard also won Player of the Tournament award in the season.
The Knight Riders didn’t lose a single game in the tournament, winning 10 out of 10 in the league stage and then sealing the knockouts comfortably.
In the semi-final, they beat Jamaica Tallawahs by nine wickets. In the final, they beat St Lucia Zouks by eight wickets to clinch the title. Pollard (4/30) and Lendl Simmons (84* off 49) made major contributions in the final.
9. St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots – 2021
After losing the CPL 2017 final, St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots finally won their maiden title in 2021. This win came under new captain Dwayne Bravo. They finished the group stage in third place.
The Patriots beat Guyana Amazon Warriors in the semi-finals by seven wickets. In the final, they beat Saint Lucia Kings by three wickets in a tight chase that was won on the last ball.
10. Jamaica Tallawahs – 2022
The third title for Jamaica Tallawahs came in 2022 under Rovman Powell. They finished the group stage in fourth place. The Tallawahs beat Saint Lucia Kings and Guyana Amazon Warriors in Eliminator and Qualifier 2 respectively to advance to the final.
They faced Barbados Royals in the final and beat them by eight wickets to win their third title. Fabian Allen won the Player of the Match award for his 3/24 in the final.
11. Guyana Amazon Warriors – 2023
After losing five CPL finals, Guyana Amazon Warriors finally won their maiden title in 2023 under the captaincy of Imran Tahir. Shai Hope (481) and Dwaine Pretorius (20 wickets) were the top performers for them.
The Warriors finished the group stage at the top. They lost Qualifier 1 against Trinbago Knight Riders, but beat Jamaica Tallawahs in Qualifier 2 to reach the final. They blew away the Knight Riders in the final by nine wickets to win the title. Pretorius won Player of the Match awards in Qualifier 2 and final.
12. Saint Lucia Kings – 2024
After finishing the 2020 and 2021 seasons as runners-up, Saint Lucia Kings finally broke into the list of the CPL champions in 2024 as Faf du Plessis led the Kings to their maiden title.
They finished the group stage in second place. Saint Lucia beat the Guyana Amazon Warriors in Qualifier 1 and in the final, they faced Guyana again and beat them again.
Noor Ahmad took 22 wickets in the tournament and played an important role in the franchise’s maiden CPL triumph.
13. Trinbago Knight Riders – 2025
After a wait for five years, Trinbago Knight Riders ended their CPL title drought as they won their record fifth title in the 2025 season.
After finishing the group stage at third spot, they then defeated Antigua and Barbuda Falcons in the Eliminator, Saint Lucia Kings in the Qualifier 2 and then Guyana Amazon Warriors in the final to lift the title.
TKR’s captain Nicholas Pooran finished as the leading run-scorer for the side with 426 runs, while Usman Tariq with 20 wickets finished as the leading wicket-taker for the side.
