India are 1-0 ahead in three-match IND vs WI ODI.
India will face West Indies in the second ODI of the three-match series at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on September 30. India are currently 1-0 ahead in the series and need one more win to take the series.
The first ODI in Thiruvananthapuram was a good game for India. West Indies scored 295/7, with Justin Greaves scoring his first ODI century. However, India chased down the target comfortably.
Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill were the main stars with the bat. Both batters scored centuries and helped their team win the match by eight wickets.
Kuldeep Yadav also impressed with the ball. He picked up four wickets and helped India stop West Indies from scoring more runs.
However, India’s pace attack did not look as strong in the first game. With Jasprit Bumrah away on Asian Games duty and Hardik Pandya unavailable, India could look at a few changes for the second ODI.

3. Mohammed Siraj in place of Gurnoor Brar
Mohammed Siraj could return to the playing XI in place of Gurnoor Brar. Siraj was not picked for the first ODI, with India giving Gurnoor a chance.
India could now bring back the experienced Siraj for the second game. He has played a lot of international cricket and could give India more experience in the pace attack.
Gurnoor did not make a big impact in the first ODI, so the hosts could consider this change as they look to strengthen their bowling attack.
2. Auqib Nabi could in place of Prasidh Krishna
India could also give Auqib Nabi his ODI debut by bringing him in for Prasidh Krishna. The Jammu and Kashmir pacer is part of India’s squad but did not play in the first ODI. The second game could be a chance for India to test him at the international level.
With the 2027 ODI World Cup in mind, India could use this series to look at some of their other bowling options. Nabi could get his opportunity in Guwahati.
1. Dhruv Jurel in place of Ruturaj Gaikwad
India could also make one change in the batting order by bringing in Dhruv Jurel for Ruturaj Gaikwad. Gaikwad did not do anything wrong in the first ODI, but India could still consider giving Jurel a chance in the second game.
If Jurel comes into the XI, KL Rahul could move up to No. 4, while Jurel could take the wicketkeeping role. This would allow India to test Rahul higher up the order and also give Jurel an opportunity.
With India leading the series 1-0, the second ODI could be a good chance to try these combinations before the final game.
