India will clash with Bangladesh on June 25 in Manchester.

Defeating Pakistan and Netherlands in their first two games, India made a brilliant start in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026. They crushed their arch-rivals, Pakistan by 64 runs and the Netherlands by 95 runs, clinching victories by huge margins in both encounters.

After initial success, Harmanpreet Kaur & Co. secured the top spot in the Group A points table. However, the ODI World Cup 2025 champions suffered a big blow in their previous encounter against South Africa Women.

The Women in Blue lost to the Laura Wolvaardt & Co. by six wickets, failing to defend a 158-run total. South Africa overpowered them with both batting and bowling departments, with Marizanne Kapp grabbing the spotlight with her all-round abilities.

Notably, India will face stiff competition from Australia and South Africa to secure a spot in the semi-finals from Group A. They need to outplay Bangladesh in their next encounter at any cost to keep their chances of reaching the semis alive.

Following a big defeat against South Africa, the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side should make a few changes in their playing XI for the next clash and below are three of them.

Changes India Women should make against Bangladesh

3. Renuka Thakur over Prema Rawat

Renuka Thakur is a prominent pacer for India Women with 68 wickets in 63 T20Is. However, the management rested her in the first 3 games as she struggled with her performances in the T20I series against South Africa before the T20 World Cup.

She is a crucial pacer in T20Is and should be given preference in the campaign. Leg-spinner Prema Rawat, who made her T20I debut in the previous match, proved expensive with an economy rate of 10.50 and went wicketless. Rawat lacks experience, and Renuka should be picked over her in the upcoming clash.

2. Bharti Fulmali over Jemimah Rodrigues

Jemimah Rodrigues was the star of India’s ODI World Cup triumph last year with her match-winning century against dominant Australia in the semi-finals. However, the right-handed batter has struggled to make a mark in the Women’s T20 World Cup, registering scores of 1, 19, and 12 across three games.

She grabs the crucial No. 3 spot in the team. In the previous game, she was moved down the order with Yastika Bhatia batting at No. 3.

Bharti Fulmali should be allowed to replace Jemimah after her three back-to-back low scores. Fulmali has played just one game in the tournament at the start against Pakistan, in which she got out for one run.

1. Kranti Goud over Arundhati Reddy

Arundhati Reddy is a key fast bowler for India, having played over 50 T20Is so far. However, the right-arm pacer has struggled to get wickets in the T20 World Cup. She went wicketless in both the clashes against Pakistan and South Africa.

Kranti Goud, who was dropped in the last match, should be brought back against Bangladesh. The right-arm pacer also played two games against Pakistan and the Netherlands and went wicketless.

However, her economy rate is better (8.0) than Reddy’s, who has conceded runs at an economy rate of 10.0 across two matches.
