Chetan Sharma, who resigned from his position following sting operation, has now returned to pick North Zone squad.

It was not too long ago when the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) sacked the selection committee members after India's poor performances in the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia. Former Chief Selector Chetan Sharma also resigned from his position after a sting operation conducted by one of the news channel. He reveled some shocking details during that sting operation about the Indian team, players and the management.

But as reported by Cricbuzz, the 57-year-old has made his comeback into the selection committee but this time with the North Zone. He has selected the North Zone side for the upcoming Duleep Trophy. Veteran Indian star Mandeep Singh will be leading the North Zone team in the upcoming tournament, which will take place between June 28 and July 16. Notably, after getting sacked, Chetan Sharma reapplied for the position in January and was back as chief selector. But later he resigned in February following the controversy.

BCCI is yet to name the next Chief Selector after Chetan Sharma

The 57-year-old was the first Indian bowler to take a hat-trick in the ODI World Cup. He served as India's Chief Selector for three years. Notably, the BCCI has not appointed a Chief Selector since Chetan resigned from the job. Former India and domestic cricketer from Odisha Shiv Sundar Das is working as Interim Chief Selector. On his comeback as selector, Chetan Sharma made some bold moves apart from appointing Mandeep Singh as the captain of the North Zone.

India's U-19 World Cup Yash Dhull that took the country to the win in the last edition was dropped. Meanwhile, after an impressive performance in the Indian Premier League for Punjab Kings, Prabhsimran Singh made to the team. Apart from him, Prashant Chopra, Manan Vohra and Sidharth Kaul are other notable names in the squad.

Indian test player Jayant Yadav is the only Indian capped cricketer in the team. MI young sensation Nehal Wadhers has been picked as stand-by player. Apart from the squad, the coaching and support staff has also been picked. Ajay Ratra is the head coach of the team.

North Zone Squad: Mandeep Singh (c), Prabhsimran Singh (wk), Prashant Chopra, Dhruv Shorey, Ankit Kalsi, Ankit Kumar, Jayant Yadav, Pulkit Narang, Nishant Sindhu, Manan Vohra, Baltej Singh, Harshit Rana, Sidharth Kaul, Vaibhav Arora, Abid Mushtaq
