Cheteshwar Pujara re-signed by Sussex County Cricket Club for the next county season

Indian batter Cheteshwar Pujara will again play for Sussex County Cricket Club in the next county season.
Discarded Indian test batter Cheteshwar Pujara has been re-signed by Sussex County Cricket Club for the upcoming season next year. Pujara has been representing Sussex County for the last two seasons. Pujara missed out on India’s squad for the upcoming two-match test series against South Africa starting on Boxing Day. Pujara’s last assignment with Indian cricket team was in Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia.
Cheteshwar Pujara joined Sussex County Cricket Club in 2022 and from there he has been a prolific run-scorer for the county side. He has also led Sussex County team on several occasions. Pujara was happy to be re-signed by Sussex County club and said that he is excited for the next season as well. Pujara’s average in county cricket has been impressive. Not only in first class, Pujara scored heavily in List-A as well.
Cheteshwar Pujara to play for Sussex for third consecutive season
As soon as the official announcement came from Sussex county side, Cheteshwar Pujara expressed his gratitude. Pujara said, “I have enjoyed my time at Hove the last couple of seasons and couldn’t be more delighted to be back again with the Sussex family. I am looking forward to joining the team and contributing to its success.” Pujara has scored 1863 runs in 18 games with 8 big hundreds in the red-ball format of the game.
Sussex head coach Paul Farbrace also welcomed the development and re-signing of Cheteshwar Pujara on the county side. Paul Farbrace said, “I am delighted that Cheteshwar is returning to Hove again for the first two months of the season. He is not just a high-quality player but is also a high-quality person. His experience and calmness in matches is a fantastic asset for our team.” Chetshwar Pujara’s international cricket career looks almost over.
Cheteshwar Pujara has been discarded from Indian side after continuous failure to score big knocks. Pujara didn’t represent India after Border-Gavaskar trophy against Australia. Pujara has played 103 test matches for India and has scored 7195 runs at an average of 43.61. Pujara has smashed 19 test centuries and 35 half-centuries in his 176 innings. Indian team management have now looked beyond Cheteshwar Pujara in the red-ball format.
