Chris Jordan became first England pacer to pick a hat-trick in T20Is.
Chris Jordan scripted history on June 23 as he became first-ever English pacer to claim a hat-trick at the ICC T20 World Cup. The right-arm speedster achieved this historic feat during England’s Super 8 clash against co-hosts the United States of America (USA) at the Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados, on June 23 in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024.
After winning the toss and opting to field first, the England bowlers produced a brilliant effort as they restricted the United States for just 115 runs.
Sam Curran and Adil Rashid bagged two wickets each, whereas Reece Topley and Liam Livingstone took one scalp each. With the bat for the USA, Nitish Kumar made 30 runs, while Corey Anderson (29) and Harmeet Singh (21) also added crucial runs for co-hosts.

The incident happened during the USA innings, when right-arm pacer Jordon came into the attack to bowl the 19th over of the match.
On the very first delivery, Jordan removed Corey Anderson for 29 runs. On the third ball of the over, the English pacer took the wicket of USA batter Ali Khan, who was clean-bowled with a stunning delivery.
On the next delivery, Jordan got the wicket of Nosthush Kenjige, who was adjudged LBW. The pacer bowled a fuller ball onto the stumps, and the USA batter didn’t bring the bat in time.
On the hat-trick delivery to USA’s Saurabh Netravalkar, England pacer Jordan bowled a fuller ball onto the stumps again, where Netravalkar was beaten by the pace, and the ball crashed into the middle stumps.
Chris Jordan became second bowler after Pat Cummins to take a hat-trick in the ongoing tournament. Adding more to it, Cummins took two hat-tricks in two consecutive matches.
