IND-W vs PAK-W game is taking place at the R Premdasa Stadium in Colombo.

Match No. 6 of ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 between India Women and Pakistan Women is currently underway at the R Premdasa Stadium in Colombo on Sunday (5th October).

The start of the IND-W vs PAK-W game in ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 was marred by a massive controversy at the toss. It became the talk of the town with many fans lashing out at the match referee Shandre Fritz, who made a big blunder.

As the coin went up, Pakistan captain Sana Fatima called tails but the presenter Mel Jones and match referee Shandre Fritz said heads was the call. The coin fell with heads up and shockingly the officials termed that Pakistan won the toss and they opted to field.

The video of the incident went viral on the internet with many calling the match a fix. Here’s the video:

Speaking at the toss, Pakistan skipper Fatima Sana was confident of winning the game, saying that anything under 250 could be a good chase for them. She said:

“We’re going to bowl first, it looks like there could be some moisture on the wicket. One change for us – Sadaf Shamas replaces Omaima Sohail – our confidence is great, hopefully we’ll play better today. Anything under 250 could be a good chase.”

On the other hand, Harmanpreet Kaur looked very positive and said that they are looking forward to doing well. She said:

“We played a good series here before the WC. We’re thinking positively and are looking to do well. One unfortunate change – Amanjot isn’t playing (she’s ill), Renuka Thakur replaces her. We’ve gelled well as a team and are looking forward to today’s contest.”
