The ICC Cricket World Cup 2027 is just a year away from now. This edition is all set to be played in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia. Top teams from across the world will be competing in the tournament to get their hands on the ultimate prize in this competition.
Australia are the defending champions, who won the last edition, beating India in the final in 2023. They will put their title on the line against the other participating teams.
Unlike the last edition, a total of 14 teams will be competing in the upcoming event, making it even bigger. India, Australia, New Zealand, England, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Pakistan have already qualified for the tournament on the bases of the performance in the last edition.
South Africa and Zimbabwe have qualified as co-hosts, while Namibia will have to play the qualifier round. The schedule for the tournament has yet to be announced, but it is not far away from being revealed.

As per reports, the International Cricket Council and Cricket South Africa are all set to announce the schedule of Cricket World Cup 2027 on October 1 during an event in Cape Town.
Senior Journalist at the TOI, Gaurav Gupta, tweeted on his official handle and wrote:
“ICC and CSA are likely to announce the 2027 World Cup schedule on October 1 at an event in Cape Town, almost exactly one year before the tournament. 10 teams will be confirmed by the September 30 qualification cutoff!”
The tentative scheduled period for the tournament is between October and November 21, 2027. The 2027 ODI World Cup will see ten teams through direct qualification, while the other spots will be filled through the qualifier round.
The qualifier round will feature ten teams, including two-time champions, West Indies. Among those ten teams, the top four sides will make it to the mega event. These ten teams will include the 9th- and 10th-ranked ODI teams as of the September 30, 2026, cut-off date.
Meanwhile, the other remaining teams will be the top four teams from the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 and the top four sides finishing the World Cup Qualifier Playoff round.

As per reports, the Cricket World Cup 2027 will be played between October 4 and November 21.
