Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) ended their long wait of 18 years as they finally had their hands on the Indian Premier League (IPL) trophy. The Rajat Patidar-led side beat Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the final of the 2025 edition and ended their title drought.
Under the leadership of Rajat Patidar, RCB were one of the most dominating teams in the tournament. They ended the league stage of the IPL 2025 in the second spot and, after that, were right on the money in Qualifier 1, beating PBKS by eight wickets.
In the final too, RCB got better off PBKS as they won the game by six runs to lift their maiden title. It not only ended the long wait for the franchise but also for Virat Kohli, who won his first-ever title in the league.
As the RCB won their first-ever title, the celebrations in Bengaluru were right on the money. The people came out on the streets and celebrated the whole night. To celebrate with the fans, the franchise moved back home to Bengaluru from Ahmedabad after winning the title.

Lakhs of people gathered outside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, and it saw cases of stampede. As many as 11 people lost their lives while 20 were injured, as per various reports. This saw the RCB management getting criticised a lot for continuing the celebrations despite people losing their lives.
