"The man who always led from the front.." Wishes pour in from cricketing fraternity as MS Dhoni celebrates 43rd birthday

MS Dhoni celebrated his birthday in Mumbai in company of his wife Sakshi and Bollywood star Salman Khan.
MS Dhoni celebrated his 43rd birthday on July 7, 2024. The former India cricketer celebrated the special day in Mumbai in company with his wife Sakshi and Bollywood star Salman Khan.
Dhoni was in Mumbai for the grand sangeet ceremony of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant. He attended the event with his wife Sakshi.
The great wicket-keeper batsman began his international cricket career in 2004, but unlike others, he quickly earned a special place in people’s hearts.
Dhoni led India to new heights over his 15-year career, winning all three ICC limited-overs trophies – T20 World Cup 2007, 50-over World Cup 2011, and Champions Trophy 2013 – making him the only captain till date to accomplish this feat.
MS Dhoni played 90 tests, scoring 4876 runs, including 6 hundreds and a highest score of 224. In 350 ODIs, he scored 10773 runs, including 10 hundreds and a top score of 183*, an average of 50.57. In 98 T20Is, Dhoni scored 1617 runs, including two fifties.
He announced his retirement in 2020 and his last international game for India was the semi-final of the 2019 World Cup. However, ‘Thala,’ as he is lovingly known, has continued to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Her relinquished Chennai Super Kings captaincy ahead of IPL 2024, but ended his leadership reign by winning the IPL 2023.
He still played the recent IPL 2024 as a finisher and his cameos gave his fans incredible memories. However, despite keeping wickets in all the games in IPL 2024, the strain on MS Dhoni was visible as he had pulled a muscle at the start of the tournament and had to play in pain as there was no backup keeper in the squad.
It remains to be seen whether MS Dhoni will continue to play in the IPL or not, or transition into a mentor kind of role. It may also happen that with the impact player role, CSK might only use MS Dhoni for batting and not have him keep wickets as he is no longer the captain.
All things aside, he received a lot of love from the cricketing community on his birthday, and here are some of the wishes he got on social media.
