Cricketing fraternity pour wishes as India head coach Rahul Dravid celebrates his 51st birthday

Indian head coach Rahul Dravid is celebrating his 51st birthday on Thursday.

As India are gearing up to take on Afghanistan in the first T20I game at the IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali, Indian head coach Rahul Dravid is celebrating his 51st birthday. The Indian head coach will celebrate his big day on duty. Dravid is one of the most loved cricketers in Indian cricket. Youngsters still look up to him when as one of the perfect role model to shape their careers.

Fondly called ‘The Wall of India,’ Rahul Dravid was part of many historic triumphs for Indian cricket. He led the Indian side to a magnificent test series win in West Indies and also helped India win their first test on South African soil. Team India also won a test series against England in England under Dravid’s leadership. Wishes have poured in on social media to celebrate Jammy’s big day.

Special wishes for Rahul Dravid

Rahul Dravid’s former teammate Sachin Tendulkar also came forward to wish Dravid on his birthday. Sachin tweeted, “Happy birthday to my teammate and friend, Rahul Dravid. Wishing you the best of health and happiness. May this year bring lots of joy and success.” Sachin Tendulkar and Dravid were part of India’s golden generation that shared several great memories.

India’s wicket-keeper batter Dinesh Karthik made a special tweet to wish Rahul Dravid on his 51st birthday. Karthik posted, “I won’t be surprised if searching synonyms for solidity, reliability or perfection shows pictures of Rahul Dravid. Happy birthday Coach!” Dravid has always been recognised as a team man and someone who will put himself at the front whenever his team is in need.

In his playing career, Rahul Dravid represented India in 164 test matches and scored 13288 runs with 36 centuries. In ODIs, Dravid played a dual role for India. Dravid was a middle-order batter and he also kept wickets for a long time. Dravid played 344 ODI games and scored 10889 runs with 12 centuries. He got to play only one T20I game in his career and scored 31 runs in his only T20I game.
