IPL 2023: CSK all-rounder Ben Stokes picks up another injury, out of action again
Chennai Super Kings dealt with another blow as all-rounder Ben Stokes picks up another injury.
Chennai Super Kings' one of the star attractions, Ben Stokes has taken part in just two games in the IPL 2023. The English All-rounder suffered an injury and missed the next 4 games. Now, CSK coach Stephen Fleming has given an update on his injury. According to Chennai coach Stephen Fleming, All-rounder Ben Stokes has suffered a setback and he will be out for a few more days or a week in the IPL 2023. Ben Stokes is facing a long-standing Knee problem, and he had pain relieving injections before joining the Chennai Super Kings squad in the Indian Premier League.
Chennai don't want to take risk with Ben Stokes
Chennai had a convincing win over Sunrisers Hyderabad at Hyderabad. After the game, CSK coach Stephen Fleming gave information about star English all-rounder Ben Stokes's injury update. Fleming said, “This is a big challenge. Our priority is getting Ben fit and ready to play. That is what we are focusing on. At the moment, he’s not quite ready”. Stokes took part in the first two games for Chennai. Stokes’s injury is a big concern for the England Cricket team as well. England is also keeping an eye on his update because they will play the Ashes against Australia after July-August.
English All-rounder was awarded World’s Leading Cricketer of the Year by Wisden Almanack this week. Stokes had brought changes in England’s test approach with coach Brandon McCullum. In 12 Tests as Captain, he won 10 games. Including a series win in Pakistan. Chennai Super Kings invested a whooping 16.25 crores in Ben Stokes in the IPL Auction 2023. Stokes had a poor two games and scored only 15 runs in two innings. Due to his injury concern, he has decided to not bowl much in the league. Chennai Super Kings will take on Kolkata Knight Riders in their next game on Sunday at Eden Gardens.
