Full list of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) coaching staff for IPL 2027
CSK appointed four new coaches for IPL 2027.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have made major changes to their coaching staff ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2027) season.
The franchise has appointed Zaheer Khan as head coach, while former CSK pacer Mohit Sharma has returned as bowling coach. Albie Morkel and Gareth Batty have also joined the team as assistant coaches.
CSK are among the most successful teams in IPL history, with five titles in their cabinet. However, the franchise has struggled in recent seasons and has failed to qualify for the playoffs for three consecutive years. They last won the trophy in 2023 and finished eighth in the 2026 season.
Now, the franchise has changed its coaching setup to improve performance. CSK released head coach Stephen Fleming after 16 years. Several other members of the coaching and support staff have also departed.

Zaheer previously worked with Mumbai Indians as a director of cricket and also served in a leadership role with Lucknow Super Giants. He will now guide CSK as they look to bounce back strongly.
The five-time champions have brought back Mohit Sharma as their bowling coach. The former India pacer played for the franchise and won the Purple Cap in 2014 after taking 23 wickets in 16 matches.
Former South Africa all-rounder Albie Morkel has returned as an assistant coach. He played for Chennai Super Kings from 2008 to 2013 and was part of their title-winning campaigns in 2010 and 2011.
Gareth Batty has also joined as an assistant coach. The former England spinner previously coached Surrey to three consecutive County Championship titles. Moreover, Assistant bowling coach Sridharan Sriram and fielding coach James Foster will continue in their roles.
