Khaleel Ahmed was ruled out of IPL 2026 due to a quadriceps injury.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are now one of the favourites to make it into the playoffs of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. They may have had a poor start to the tournament, but in the last few games they have done well, and the top teams have conceded points, which has helped their case.
The battle for the playoffs is heating up, and CSK are at the 5th position on the table with 6 wins in 11 games. However, one of the major concerns in their campaign has been the injuries to players. Multiple CSK players have been ruled out of the tournament due to injuries, including prominent names like Ayush Mhatre, Khaleel Ahmed, and Jamie Overton.
The team has been struck by injuries, which has forced them to not play their best possible team in matches. However, they have also been quick in taking replacements for those players. They have roped in another pacer to replace Khaleel Ahmed.
Kuldip Yadav replaces Khaleel Ahmed in the CSK squad – Report

As per the reports in Revsportz, Kuldip Yadav, who made his debut for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2021 and has played only 3 IPL games so far in the tournament, has been roped in as the replacement for Khaleel Ahmed in the CSK squad. Yadav last played in the IPL in 2023, but he has finally gotten another chance this year to be part of the tournament.
The left-arm medium-fast bowler has taken 2 wickets in 3 matches in his IPL career, with the best bowling figures of 1/18. There is a lot of potential in him, which has now been recognised by the CSK management. The team has been doing well, but a few more injuries have emerged as setbacks for the side, and if needed, Kuldip may get a chance in the playing XI.
The next few matches are very important for the CSK team as they look to qualify for the playoffs. Any single loss can decrease their chances of making it into the top 4, but at the same time, they have been lucky with the results of other teams going in their favour and would like to win their own matches to secure a place in the top 4.
