IPL 2026: CSK opens communication with RR over Sanju Samson trade again for a big player in return

Sanju Samson has reportedly expressed his desire to leave Rajasthan Royals.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) once again have shown interest in acquiring the services of Sanju Samson for Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. As per the reports in Cricbuzz, it is learned that the franchise have opened the channels of communication with the Rajasthan Royals (RR).
After IPL 2025, Sanju Samson reportedly expressed his dissatisfaction with the RR management and expressed his desire to leave the franchise. As that happened, there were a lot of reports which claimed that CSK have shown interest in Samson and they will give two players to the RR for the keeper-batter.
However, after a few rounds of discussions, the trade talks were over and now months later, after reports of Sanju Samson getting traded to Delhi Capitals (DC) also getting over, CSK yet again have come in and expressed their interest over the same.

As per the reports, it is learned that MS Dhoni along with CEO Kasi Viswanathan, skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad and coach Stephen Fleming are all set to have a meeting ahead of the November 15 retention deadline. The meeting is expected to take place on November 10 and 11, where Sanju Samson’s trade possibility will also be known.
RR owner Manoj Badale has contacted several franchise managements including Chennai Super Kings, Lucknow Super Giants, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Delhi Capitals. The reports claimed that in the trade with the five-time champions, a top CSK player will also be involved.
It is reported that the word has been sent to the top CSK player to know if he is comfortable moving to Rajasthan Royals. The official word on this will be made soon when the picture related to Sanju Samson’s trade will be cleared.
