Both the teams, CSK and RR have won two matches and lost one in IPL 2023.

The 17th match of the Indian Premier League 2023 will see Chennai Super Kings facing off against Rajasthan Royals at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Despite losing their first game against GT, CSK bounced back and secured two consecutive wins against LSG and MI. Ajinkya Rahane has emerged as a solid number three batting option for CSK due to his exceptional performance in the last match against MI in Mumbai, where he scored a quick fifty in just 19 balls.

RR, like CSK, have won two out of three games this season, with their latest victory coming against DC. Yashaswi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler have been in excellent form as openers for the team, each scoring two fifties in the last three innings they have played.

CSK Vs RR: Pitch Report

The Chepauk pitch is widely known for being slow and low, posing challenges for batsmen to score runs. To succeed on this pitch, batters must rely heavily on their technique. In contrast, spin bowlers may find the pitch to their advantage due to its tendency to assist spin, making it favorable playing condition for them.

CSK Vs RR: Team News

For CSK, Ben Stokes missed the last match against MI due to injury and remains doubtful for the upcoming match against RR. On the other hand, Moeen Ali, who missed the game against MI due to food poisoning, will be available. The Sri Lankan cricketers, Maheesh Theekshana and Matheesha Pathirana, who missed the first 3 matches of IPL 2023 due to national team commitments, will now be available for the upcoming match. Unfortunately, Deepak Chahar picked up an injury in the match against MI and will be unavailable for the upcoming match.

Whereas, RR emerged victorious in their previous game against DC and is expected to stick to the same playing XI for their upcoming match against CSK.
