Daryl Mitchell smashed his second century against India in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

New Zealand all-rounder Daryl Mitchell is leading the charge for the Kiwis against Team India at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Team India posted 397 runs in the first semi-final and New Zealand need 398 runs to win the game. Daryl Mitchell along with skipper Kane Williamson put up a strong fight against the Indian bowlers in their chase. The Kiwi batters have targeted the Indian bowlers with a logical approach. 

Daryll Mitchell has smashed a few magnificent shots against the two Indian spinners, Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav. Mitchell milked the two of the Indian left-arm spinners using the gaps in the field. He also took aerial root on a few occasions and smashed 5 towing sixes in his innings. One of his big shots went almost over the Wankhede Stadium roof and made the entire crowd in Mumbai go into deep silence. 

Mitchell smashed Jadeja out of the park

In the 27th over Daryl Mitchell took on Ravindra Jadeja aggressively and smashed one of his deliveries to a huge six. The ball went long 107 metres and kissed the Wankhede roof before bouncing back to the ground. Jadeja bowled a fuller-length delivery against Mitchell and it was well within his reach and smacked it over long-on. The ball went long for 107 Metres making it the longest six of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023

Daryl Mitchell overtook Shreyas Iyer for the record of longest six of this World Cup. Shreyas Iyer smashed a 106-metre-long six against Sri Lanka during his 82-run knock in Mumbai. Daryl Mitchell has smashed his second World Cup and 6th ODI century. India got a much-needed breakthrough as Mohammed Shami picked up two quick wickets in his second spell. NZ skipper Kane Williamson departed after scoring 69 runs and Tom Latham got out on a second-ball duck. 

Team India posted 397 runs on the board and gave New Zealand 398 runs to chase. Virat Kohli smashed a record-breaking century as he now became the leading batter with most ODI centuries. This was his 50th ODI century. Shreyas Iyer also scored his 5th ODI century. Virat Kohli scored 117 runs in 113 balls while Shreyas Iyer scored 105 runs in 70 balls. Iyer smashed 8 long sixes in his innings and cleared boundaries with ease.
