David Warner is captaining Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League 2026. They have made a spectacular start in the tournament by winning three games in a row.

Karachi defeated Quetta Gladiators in their opening game of PSL 2026 by 14 runs. Later, they defeated Lahore Qalandars in a low-scoring clash in their second game. In their third game, Karachi chased down a 198-run target against the Rawalpindiz.

With six points, they are second in the PSL 2026 points table, behind Multan Sultans, who are currently at the top. Karachi Kings played their last match on April 2 and will next play on April 9 against Peshawar Zalmi.

Due to the long break, the franchise gave a short break to a few players. David Warner, Adam Zampa, Azam Khan, and Hasan Ali were released from the squad. All of them have been given a break for personal reasons.

Warner travelled to Australia to spend some time with his family. However, the batting legend was caught in a big controversy during his break.

David Warner was arrested for a drunk-driving case in Sydney

On Sunday night, Warner was arrested in Sydney for a drunk-driving case, according to a report by ESPN. Police discovered Warner’s alcohol level was twice the legal limit, and he failed a breath test.

According to the report, Warner drove and parked his car in Maroubra, Sydney, on Sunday night. During a routine check, police officers approached him and conducted a breath test for alcohol, which gave a positive result.

Warner was arrested and taken to Maroubra Police Station, where he returned a reading of 0.1. Now, he will have to appear in court in May.

“About 5:30 pm today (Sunday 5 April 2026), police were conducting stationary random breath testing on Malabar Road, Maroubra. A van was seen to allegedly stop short of the testing site and park. Officers attached to the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command approached the vehicle and subjected the driver, a 39-year-old man, to roadside testing, which returned a positive result,” NSW police told news.com.au in a statement.

Meanwhile, Warner is expected to play for Karachi in their next game on April 9. However, he will have to visit Australia sooner or later for the case, which could force him to miss games in the tournament.
