David Warner will play final test match of his career at Sydney Cricket Ground.

Veteran Australian opener David Warner will be playing his final test match in Sydney which will be starting on Wednesday. Warner announced his test retirement in 2023 during the Ashes series. He also announced his retirement from the ODI format on new year’s day. David Warner started nicely against Pakistan in Perth and played a mammoth 164 runs knock in the first test match.

Now when he is about to enter the final leg of his international career, Warner has lost his ‘Baggy Green’ cap. He had to put out an appeal on social media to retrieve one of the biggest treasures of his life. David Warner lost his ‘Baggy Green’ while travelling to Sydney from Melbourne, where he played the Boxing Day test match against Pakistan.

David Warner’s social media appeal for ‘Baggy Green’

In a video posted on his Instagram account, David Warner has appealed, “Unfortunately, This is my ‘last resort’ to do this, but a couple of days ago our bags got freighted by Qantas… but out unfortunately someone’s taken my backpack and my actual luggage which had my girls present and inside backpack my ‘Baggy Greens’ that’s sentimental to me and something that I would love to have back.” 

The left-hander also informed that the management had gone through the CCTV cameras of the hotel. After checking on everything, the veteran batter had to post a video message through his Instagram account. Warner also said that he would love to wear his ‘Baggy Green’ while representing Australia in his final test match.

David Warner has also promised that the person who got his ‘Baggy Green’ will not get into any sort of trouble if he returns it back. Qantas airlines said that they checked their cameras and did not find anyone opening the luggage and taking out the backpack. Australia will be playing Pakistan at SCG starting on Wednesday, 3rd January,2024.
