Dawid Malan has the all-time best rating points in T20 internationals.
Left-handed England batsman Dawid Malan has announced his retirement from international cricket. The 37-year-old is one of the only two England batsmen to score a century in all three formats. Malan represented England in 22 Tests, 30 ODIs and 62 T20Is between 2017 and 2023.
His most prominent dominance came in the shortest format. He made his T20I debut in June 2017 against South Africa and scored a 44-ball 78 on his debut. He scored four half-centuries in the first five innings and played plenty of match-winning knocks throughout his T20I career.
In 62 T20Is he scored 1892 runs at an average of 36.28 and a strike rate of 132.49, with one century and 16 half-centuries. Below, we will talk about three memorable innings for Malan’s T20I career.

3. 78 vs South Africa, Cardiff, 2017 (debut)

For any cricketer, their debut international match is memorable. Dawid Malan made it a special one. He played his first T20I against South Africa in Cardiff on June 25, 2017.
Batting at No. 3, he scored 78 runs off 44 balls with 12 fours and two sixes and helped his team win the game. He won the Player of the Match award for his onslaught. Malan’s 78 is also the highest score by an English batsman on T20I debut.
2. 99* vs South Africa, Cape Town, 2020

In December 2020, Dawid Malan reached 915 ICC rating points as a T20I batter, which is the highest ever anyone has achieved in the format. He achieved this milestone after a sensational knock against South Africa in Cape Town while chasing 192.
England reached the target in just 17.4 overs and won by nine wickets, courtesy of a 26-ball fifty by Malan. He remained unbeaten on 99 off 47 balls, with 11 fours and five sixes, scoring at a strike rate of 210.63.
1. 103 vs New Zealand, Naiper, 2019

England’s previous highest T20I total of 241/3 came against New Zealand in 2019 at Naiper. It was largely because of a blistering century by Dawid Malan. Batting at no. 3, Malan reached his fifty off 31 balls and then grew even more aggressive. It took him only 17 balls to complete the next 50 runs.
He remained unbeaten on 103 off 51 balls, with nine fours and six sixes, scoring at a strike rate of 201.96. England won that game by 76 runs, and Malan won the Player of the Match award.
