Virat Kohli shines, Rohit Sharma suffers & more; Check out Day 2 results of Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26

Virat Kohli smacked a half-century in Delhi’s second game against Gujarat.

A total of 16 games took place in round 2 of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 on Friday, December 26. Moreover, three more games were played in the Plate tournament, which is witnessing a clash between six teams. While the Indian Cricket Team batter Virat Kohli stole the limelight once again, Rohit Sharma failed to make a mark with the bat.

Virat, who hammered a marvellous century in the opening game for Delhi against Andhra, rocked with the bat once again in the second clash against Gujarat. Smacking 77 runs off 61 deliveries, the right-handed batsman helped Delhi to post 254/9 in the first innings.

Bowling out Gujarat for 247 runs, Delhi won the encounter by a close margin of seven runs to win their second match in a row.

Virat Kohli, who rescued the team after they lost their openers cheaply, won the Player of the Match award. Moreover, the Delhi batter also accumulated 16,000 runs in List A Cricket, becoming the second Indian batter after Sachin Tendulkar to reach the milestone.

Rohit Sharma scored a duck in Mumbai’s second game

On the other hand, Sharma flopped with his batting show for Mumbai, grabbing a golden duck in the clash against Uttarakhand. In the opening clash against Sikkim, he scored a fabulous century (155) to propel the team to victory.

Despite Rohit’s failure in the second game, Mumbai crushed Uttarakhand by 51 runs by piling up 331/7 in the first innings and restricting the opposition to 280/9.

Jharkhand’s Shubham Kumar Singh was another player to steal the limelight with his six-wicket haul against Rajasthan. On the other hand, Rajasthan’s Karan Lamba scored his maiden List A century.
