Jos Buttler gave a quickfire start to GT’s batting in the first innings.
Delhi Capitals (DC) and Gujarat Titans (GT) are clashing in the 14th match of the Indian Premier League 2026, which got underway on April 8 at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. DC captain Axar Patel won the toss and opted to field first in the clash.
While DC made no changes to their playing XI, GT saw the return of captain Shubman Gill. He missed the previous game due to a muscle spasm.
Sai Sudharsan and Gill opened the batting for GT. However, Sudharsan got out cheaply for 12 runs in the third over of Mukesh Kumar. One down, Jos Buttler stuck to his aggressive batting style, providing a quickfire start to GT’s batting.
While Gill waited patiently on the other hand, the England batter hammered DC bowlers all over the stadium. He took the scoreboard to 68 runs in the Powerplay. He was eventually dismissed by Kuldeep Yadav in the eighth over.
Buttler scored 52 runs off 27 deliveries with the help of 3 fours and 5 sixes. He also achieved a spectacular milestone in T20s with his batting show.
