Match No. 56 of IPL 2024, DC vs RR, will be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi.
In match No. 56 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, Delhi Capitals (DC) will take on the in-form Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on May 7. Rajasthan hammered Delhi by 12 runs when both the teams met last time in the ongoing tournament in Jaipur on March 28.
Rishabh Pant-led Delhi are having a decent run in the IPL 2024 edition so far. Capitals have played 11 league stage matches having won five while losing six games till now. Delhi have 10 points with negative NRR of -0.442. In their last match against two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders, they suffered a crushing defeat by seven wickets, which also ended their two-match winning streak.
In Delhi’s next clash against consistent Rajasthan, they will aim to bring their winning momentum back by defeating the visitors. If Capitals somehow emerge victorious, then they will keep their hopes alive of reaching the IPL 2024 playoffs. Otherwise a loss against them will make it difficult for Pant-led side to finish at the top four in the points table.
Meanwhile, Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan are having a dream run in the ongoing tournament till now. The Royals have played 10 matches and emerged victorious eight times while losing just two games so far. They have 16 points with an NRR of +0.622. In their last encounter against Sunrisers Hyderabad, they suffered a heartbreaking defeat by just one run, which also ended their four-match winning streak.
The Samson-led side will now aim to win their next fixture against Delhi. A win against them, will make them officially the first side to qualify for the IPL 2024 playoffs. However, a loss against them will not dent their ongoing campaign as they are currently placed second in the IPL 2024 standings.
