Delhi Capitals: All captains in IPL history

Delhi Capitals have never won the IPL.
Delhi Capitals (DC) are one of the few franchises that have been part of all Indian Premier League (IPL) seasons since 2008 and yet not won a single IPL title. In fact, in the 17 IPL seasons they have only reached the final once, in 2020, which they lost to Mumbai Indians.
Delhi started their IPL journey as Delhi Daredevils and were solely owned by the GMR Group. In 2018, GMT sold 50% stake to JSW Sports. The franchise’s name was then changed to Delhi Capitals, which also enforced a change in their jersey and logo.
In 17 seasons, Delhi have had 14 different captains and have reached the playoffs overall six times. Virender Sehwag was the franchise’s first captain and he led them in 52 matches, the most for any Delhi skipper. Delhi won 28 games under Sehwag, the most they did under any captain.
After Sehwag, Delhi lacked consistency in their captaincy position for many years until Shreyas Iyer became the skipper in the middle of the IPL 2018 season.
Then Delhi Capitals, under new head coach Ricky Ponting, had a consistent period of three seasons. They qualified for the playoffs in three consecutive seasons from 2019 to 2021, twice under Iyer and once under Rishabh Pant. However, things went downhill against for the Capitals as they failed to finish in the top four for the next three seasons under Pant and David Warner.
Apart from Indian captains Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Iyer, Pant, Dinesh Karthik, Zaheer Khan, Delhi also have had a spate of overseas skippers like David Warner, James Hopes, Mahela Jayawardene, Kevin Pietersen, JP Duminy, and Ross Taylor.
Here is the list of all Delhi Capitals captain in IPL:
