Delhi Capitals Women bought four players at the WPL 2025 auction.

Delhi Capitals (DC) Women entered the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 auction with a clear focus on reinforcing their squad with versatile players.

The WPL 2025 auction saw a clear trend of franchises prioritizing all-rounders and emerging domestic talent. Gujarat Giants and Mumbai Indians emerged as the most active teams. UP Warriorz acquired three players during the event, while other four teams bought four players each.

Mumbai-born all-rounder Simran Shaikh emerged as the most expensive player of the WPL 2025 auction, securing an INR 1.9 crore deal with Gujarat Giants. The Giants made another big addition by roping in Caribbean all-rounder Deandra Dottin for a whopping INR 1.7 crores.

The two-time runners-up Delhi Capitals roped in Andhra’s left-arm spinner N Charani as their most expensive signing for INR 55 lakhs.

Among other notable picks made by Delhi were Nandini Kashyap, who was a standout performer in the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy with 247 runs at a strike rate of 125.38, and Scotland wicket-keeper batter Sarah Bryce, who will provide experience in their batting lineup. DCW roped in India’s Under-19 captain Niki Prasad for her base price of INR 10 lakhs.

Having lost the finals of both WPL seasons so far, the Delhi Capitals Women will hope to go one step further in WPL 2025.
