Dilshan Madushanka clinched a hat-trick in the final over of the 1st ODI against Zimbabwe.

Sri Lanka crushed Zimbabwe by seven runs in the first ODI of the series on Friday, August 29. Pacer Dilshan Madushanka played a key role in his team’s win, capturing a fabulous hat-trick in the last over of the match to snatch victory for his side.

While chasing 299 for a win, Zimbabwe needed just 10 runs off the final over with five wickets in hand. It was almost certain that the hosts would win. But Madushanka oozed his class and clinched a hat-trick in the first three deliveries, dismissing Sikardar Raza, Brad Evans, and Richard Ngarava.

Madushanka leaked just two runs in the last over and returned with the figures of 4/62 in his 10-over spell. He joined former Sri Lanka pacers Lasith Malinga and Chaminda Vaas to claim multiple hat-tricks in ODI cricket. The left-arm pacer also grabbed the Player of the Match award for his incredible bowling show.
