"He's the greatest.." Dinesh Karthik refers to Jasprit Bumrah as "Kohinoor Diamond"

Dinesh Karthik was recently appointed as the mentor of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) mentor and batting coach Dinesh Karthik heaped praise on Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah. The right-arm pacer Bumrah was the one off main heroes in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 final against South Africa, where India defeated South Africa by seven runs.

The right-arm fast bowler had match figures of 2/18 in his quota of four overs. Bumrah’s last two overs at the death helped India put pressure back on the opponents. Bumrah also picked the wicket of Marco Jansen in 18th over of the second innings.

The 30-year-old won Player of the Tournament award for taking 15 wickets in the tournament. He had an outstanding economy of 4.17 and he was India’s second-highest wicket-taker after Arshdeep Singh, who had picked 17 wickets in the tournament.

Jasprit Bumrah is more valuable than a Kohinoor diamond: Dinesh Karthik

Following India’s win at the mega ICC T20 event, former Indian cricketer and newly appointed mentor and batting coach of RCB, Dinesh Karthik, expressed his thoughts regarding speedster Bumrah. Karthik said that Bumrah is the greatest all-format bowler at the moment in world cricket, and he is more valuable than a Kohinoor diamond.

“When I was on air, I said he is more valuable than a Kohinoor diamond. Genuinely, he is the greatest all-format bowler at the moment in world cricket. Under pressure to come and keep performing time and time again, not many can do that,” Karthik told Cricbuzz.

“He’s a captain’s dream, someone who wins at any stage, any play of the match — that’s what makes him so special. Brilliant, fantabulous — that’s the word for him,” added Karthik.
