Paul Coughlin took one of the craziest one-handed catches to dismiss Lancashire’s Matthew Hurst in T20 Blast.

Durham seamer Paul Coughlin’s outrageous catch of Lancashire’s Matthew Hurst during their encounter in the ongoing T20 Blast tournament in England has gone viral. Everyone has been left stunned by Coughlin’s jaw-dropping return take.

Lancashire and Durham faced each other on Sunday for their North Group match at the Riverside Ground in Chester-le-Street.

Durham edged Lancashire in a high-scoring last-over thriller by only two runs after scoring 218. The game was headlined by one of the craziest catches ever taken in cricket history by Coughlin.

Paul Coughlin stuns the world with a sensational one-handed return catch

On the fourth ball of the 7th over of Lancashire’s innings, Coughlin attempted a yorker to batsman Matthew Hurst. Hurst, in an attempt to hit a boundary while chasing a tall target, charged down the pitch. His skipping down the track made Coughlin’s attempted yorker into a low full toss, which the batter could only hit straight back towards the bowler.

In order to prevent his face from being smothered by the ball, Coughlin ducked and put his hand in front of his face. He may have had very little idea of the ball and then of the unbelievable catch he took as the ball came straight into his palm and remained stuck.

Coughlin fell down and barely celebrated the catch, perhaps still in shock of what he’d done. His teammates gathered around him to celebrate and everyone was in smiles and laughter of surprise and astonishment at Coughlin’s insane catch.
