Ellyse Perry smashed a crucial fifty against the Mumbai Indians in the eliminator match on March 15.
Australian all-rounder Ellyse Perry unleashed her beast mode during the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024 group stage between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and UP Warriorz (UPW) at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore on March 4.
Perry hammered UP bowlers all over the park during her 37-ball 58. During her match-winning innings, where RCB won the match by 23 runs, one of her towering sixes pierced through the TATA Punch.ev car’s window, which was displayed on the boundary as the Player of the Series award.
Almost 11 days down the line, Tata Motors has come up with a heartwarming gesture. RCB star Ellyse Perry received a special gift from TATA Motors after she was adjudged Player of the Match for her match-winning performance in the WPL 2024 eliminator against the defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) on March 15.
The Australian all-rounder scored a crucial fifty as RCB defeated MI in the eliminator by five runs. Perry got a special gift from the car manufacturers as they gifted her the broken window of the vehicle, which she damaged during the RCB vs UPW league stage game. They captioned the frame by writing “PerryPowerfulPunch”.

Ellyse Perry’s huge six breaks car window in RCB vs UPW clash in the WPL 2024
With RCB playing their last game this season in Bangalore, Perry entertained the capacity crowd present at the venue on March 4. One of her shots also took down a car window.
In the 19th over of RCB’s innings, Perry deposited UPW off-spinner Deepti Sharma over the long-on boundary for a huge six. The ball sailed over the ropes and shattered a car window, which entertained the whole crowd as well as RCB players.
The 33-year-old Perry was also surprised, and she reacted by keeping her hands on her head after she broke the car window. The RCB batter got to her half-century off 33 balls and went on to notch 58 runs off 37 balls against UP Warriorz.

The right-handed batter rescued RCB during the match in Delhi against the defending champions, MI, on March 15. RCB were at 30/3 at one stage and looked set for a low score in the elimination game. However, Aussie all-rounder once again showed her class as she smashed 50-ball 66 and ensured that RCB ended with 135 on the board.
With the ball, the RCB all-rounder got the crucial wicket of Yastika Bhatia and gave away 29 runs in her four-over quota as RCB won the match by five runs and will take on last year’s runners-up Delhi Capitals (DC) on March 17.
“We are ecstatic to get an opportunity to be in the final. To defend a low total like that is awesome. The girls kept calm and pretty awesome performance from the spinners at the end. You gotta take the opportunity when it comes. Nice for me the last couple of games, it has fallen my way. The way we stayed calm against such a good side is exceptional,” said Perry after winning player of the match award.
Ellyse Perry is currently leading run-scorer of the WPL 2024 with 312 runs to her name.
