England lead the five-match series 1-0 after victory in the 2nd ENG vs IND T20I.
After winning the second game, England are ready to face India in the third T20I. The encounter will take place on July 7 at Trent Bridge.
Indian Cricket Team have struggled in recent times in the shortest format following Shreyas Iyer’s appointment as T20I captain. The Men in Blue lost a T20I series against Ireland last month, facing a disastrous 0-2 whitewash.
Ireland scripted history and stunned the entire cricket fraternity by clinching their first-ever match and series victory against India in the shortest format. While the defeats were expected to be two bad days at the job, the Shreyas Iyer & Co. have also faced woes in India’s tour of England 2026.
In the opening game at Riverside Ground against England, India posted 189/7 in the first innings that seemed a little less than the par total. However, rain hampered the match after first innings and the 2nd innings was completely washed out. The encounter ended with no result.
Jacob Bethell shattered India’s bowling unit in ENG vs IND 2nd T20I

In the 2nd T20I in Manchester, India batted first once again and piled up 190/7 with none of the batsmen scoring a fifty. Dismissing both England openers for ducks, India registered a spectacular start in the 2nd innings.
However, Jacob Bethell threw a wrench in the works with his quickfire half-century to propel the home team to victory by seven wickets.
Now, the hosts have a 1-0 lead and if they win the upcoming clash, India’s hopes of series victory will be ended. Hence, the ENG vs IND 3rd T20I is a do-or-die game for India to keep their hopes of a series win alive.
After losing the previous game in just 19 overs and a continuous debacle in recent times, Shreyas Iyer & Co. are expected to make a few changes in the playing XI for the 3rd T20I.
However, Harry Brook & Co. are confident with their current combination and have made no changes in the playing XI for the Trent Bridge clash. The hosts announced their playing XI on Monday, July 6, a day before the match.
England’s playing XI for the 3rd T20I against India:
Phil Salt, Jos Buttler (WK), Harry Brook (C), Jacob Bethell, Tom Banton, Will Jacks, Sam Curran, Liam Dawson, Jofra Archer, Josh Tongue, Adil Rashid.
