In the chase, India lost Rohit Sharma (11) and Virat Kohli (5) cheaply before the 10th over. After that, captain Shubman Gill (80*) and Shreyas Iyer (35) built a partnership of 101 runs to play an important role in the chase.
However, Gill retired hurt after scoring an unbeaten 80 in the 26th over due to a hamstring injury; it didn’t stop India from winning the game.
All-rounders Washington Sundar (52*) and Axar Patel (57*) brought the team home with their unbeaten half-centuries. The visitors chased down the target in just 45.2 overs by six wickets, earning a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
