The ENG vs IND 2nd ODI is taking place at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff.
The 2nd ODI between India and England got underway on July 16, Thursday, at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff. England captain Harry Brook won the toss and opted to field first in the clash.
The home team dropped Josh Tongue and Liam Dawson for the encounter and replaced them with Saqib Mahmood and Gus Atkinson. Shubman Gill-led side made just one change to their playing XI, picking Ishan Kishan over KL Rahul as the latter was unavailable due to illness.
India could not come up with an impressive show with the bat, getting all out for just 233 runs in 44 overs. Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer slammed half-centuries but other batters failed to support them. The visitors lost their lower middle-order like a house of cards.
In the 2nd innings, India made a good start by dismissing both England openers for single digits. While Ben Duckett was gone for a duck, Jacob Bethell lost his wicket for just four runs.
In the second innings, the Men in Blue suffered a big blow as all-rounder Washington Sundar was unavailable for bowling.
Sundar did not take the field as he got injured while attempting a run in the 1st innings. It left India with one bowler short. Moreover, Sundar is expected to miss the last game against England too.
