ENG vs PAK: What happened last time when England played a test match in Rawalpindi?

The third ENG vs PAK test match of the 2024 series will be played in Rawalpindi from October 24.
The England cricket team are currently playing a three-match test series against Pakistan in the latter’s home and it’s into the decider. The exciting series began on October 7 with the first two tests being played in Multan.
The Three Lions thrashed Pakistan in the opening test by an innings and 47 runs. Harry Brook was named Player of the Match for his triple century.
After suffering a crushing defeat, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) made huge changes to their squad for the second and third tests. The board “rested” Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah, and prepared a dry, spin-friendly track. The PCB’s decision struck gold as Pakistan defeated England in the second test in Multan by 152 runs.
With the series levelled at 1-1, the last match of the three-match test series will be played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from October 24.
Last time, when England toured Pakistan in 2022, the opening test in Rawalpindi turned out to be a thrilling encounter that ended with only a few minutes left on day 5.

The last time when Pakistan and England played a test match in Rawalpindi, England won by 74 runs in the last few minutes of day 5.
England notched up 657 runs as Harry Brook top-scored with 153 runs. In reply, Pakistan made 579 runs after their three batters slammed centuries. The visitors declared at 264/7 in their second innings and set a huge target of 343 runs for the hosts.
While chasing, Pakistan were bundled out for 268 runs. England speedsters Ollie Robinson and James Anderson claimed four wickets each. The Three Lions won the 2022 Rawalpindi test by 74 runs.
