2. Team not adapting to the conditions

Another big reason for the underperformance of the team has been the inability of the players to adapt to overseas conditions. The last Test match that Pakistan won in a SENA country was way back in 2018. It has been eight years since they won in SENA, and the wait continues to get longer.

The players pile up runs in home conditions on flat pitches, but whenever they encounter spicy wickets away from home that suit bowlers, they fail to adapt and lose their wickets, which eventually causes a collapse. They also fail to back emerging players while giving non-performing players longer runs in the team. After the 194-run defeat at Lord’s, the PCB sacked head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed, and white-ball coach Mike Hesson took over the team. There has been no consistency in the decisions and management of the Pakistani team, which is one of the major reasons behind their underperformance.
