England won the third test against India at the Lord’s by a margin of 22 runs.
The England Cricket Team have announced their squad for the fourth game of the series against the Indian Cricket Team. The match will be played at the Old Trafford Stadium in Manchester, beginning 23rd July.
England have made one change to their squad for the fourth test. Liam Dawson has replaced Shoaib Bashir, who has been ruled out of remainder of the series, in the team as the latter got injured in the third game at the Lord’s Cricket Ground in London. He suffered a fracture on his finger as he attempted to stop the ball off his bowling.
Liam Dawson will be making a comeback in the test setup after eight long years. He last featured for the team in the format in 2017. However, his consistent performances in the County Championship for Hampshire made the selectors pick him for the penultimate game of the series.
Speaking about Liam Dawson’s selection, National Selector, Luke Wright, said:
“Liam Dawson deserves his call-up. He has been in outstanding form in the County Championship and consistently puts in strong performances for Hampshire.”
Also, they have released Sam Cook and Jamie Overton. The fast bowlers will be returning to their respective counties to play in the County Championship. The rest of the squad remains the same.
England are currently leading the five-match series by a margin of 2-1. They registered a brilliant 22-run win at the Lord’s Cricket Ground in London in the third match. They would be keen to continue their golden form and win the series in the next game itself.
