England to begin their title defence against the 2019 finalists New Zealand at Ahmedabad on 5th October.

The schedule for the 2023 ODI World Cup in India has been announced on Tuesday morning. The defending champions, England, will defend their title against other top nine teams. It will be England who will play the first game of the tournament against New Zealand at the largest cricket stadium in the world, Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, on October 5.

The top eight teams have already booked their places for the mega event on the basis of rankings and points in the ODI Super League, while two teams will fight it out in the ten-team ICC CWC Qualifier 2023, which is underway in Zimbabwe, to get the tickets for the remaining two slots. Just like the last edition in England, the 12th edition will see a total of 10 teams play in the competition.
