The three-match test series between England and Sri Lanka will be played from August 21 to September 10.
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced a 14-member squad for the upcoming home three-match test series against Sri Lanka. Veteran all-rounder Ben Stokes will continue to lead the Three Lions in the longest format.
Notably, star opener Zak Crawley will miss the upcoming Sri Lanka test series after he fractured his right little finger during the final match of the three-match series against the West Indies last month. Also, seamer Dillon Pennington has been ruled out due to a hamstring injury, the ECB announced on Sunday, August 4.
The ECB has handed a maiden test call-up to middle-order batter Jordan Cox. The 23-year-old Essex cricketer also toured with the England white-ball squad to Pakistan in 2022.
England have also included speedster Olly Stone for the upcoming three-match test series against Sri Lanka. Stone will be making his return to the test side for the first time since June 2021. The Nottinghamshire seamer has played three test matches and picked up 10 wickets so far in his career.
